Important limits on CoverageCases verification, marketplace records, and attorney responsibilities.
Technology role only
CoverageCases provides technology that allows attorneys to locate and communicate with other attorneys concerning temporary coverage of existing client matters. CoverageCases is not a law firm, does not provide legal services, does not establish an attorney-client relationship, and does not refer prospective clients, recommend or rank attorneys, or determine whether an attorney is appropriate for a particular matter.
Identity and official-record limitation
CoverageCases may confirm a user’s identity through Stripe Identity and compare identifying information with publicly available Florida Bar records. Verification means only that specified identity and public-record fields matched at the time shown. It is not an endorsement by The Florida Bar or CoverageCases and does not establish competence, conflicts clearance, insurance coverage, disciplinary history, or suitability for any assignment.
An initial Identity approval means only that Stripe reported successful government-document and matching-selfie verification, the provider-verified first and last name matched the account name under the configured matching rules, and the user supplied a canonical Florida Bar number and the required active-attorney certification. It does not mean the Bar number was officially confirmed. If a later official-roster match occurs, CoverageCases may record that separate result. Neither Stripe nor CoverageCases guarantees identity results, competence, authorization, current good standing, or eligibility.
The standard dataset is point-in-time membership information. CoverageCases does not obtain extra standing or disciplinary data and does not independently verify current good standing. Each attorney must perform all checks required by law, court rule, professional responsibility, and the circumstances.
Engagement and compensation limitation
A posting, acceptance, status, acknowledgement, report, dispute, or administrative resolution is a platform record, not legal advice, a guarantee of performance, or an adjudication of either attorney's rights. CoverageCases does not process attorney engagement compensation; the attorneys arrange and settle it directly outside the platform under their separate agreement.
CoverageCases revenue is limited at launch to individually purchased Basic or Pro software subscriptions and fixed posting fees disclosed before publication. No CoverageCases charge is a percentage or share of attorney compensation, and CoverageCases does not use a Stripe application fee, transfer, or connected-attorney payment for that compensation.
Rule 4-7.22 operating classification
The documented operating classification depends on CoverageCases remaining attorney-only, not connecting the public to lawyers, not recommending or ranking lawyers, and not receiving or sharing engagement fees. It is not an approval or binding determination by The Florida Bar. Any material change to those facts requires renewed review.
