Important limits on CoverageCases' technology role and on information displayed through the platform.
Technology role only
CoverageCases is a lawyer-to-lawyer technology platform. It is not a law firm, lawyer, provider of legal services, attorney employer, supervisor, escrow agent, payment intermediary for coverage engagements, or guarantor.
CoverageCases does not connect prospective clients with lawyers and does not refer, recommend, rank, select, or endorse attorneys for members of the public.
No legal advice or relationship
Platform information is not legal advice. Use of CoverageCases does not create an attorney-client relationship with CoverageCases or make CoverageCases a party to an attorney-to-attorney engagement. Attorneys must create and document their own separate engagement.
Verification limits
Account approval and Florida Bar checks are administrative, point-in-time controls. They do not guarantee identity, competence, conflicts clearance, availability, good standing at every later moment, authorization, insurance, performance, or suitability for a particular matter.
Independent attorney duties
Each attorney remains independently responsible for authority, conflicts, competence, scope, deadlines, client communication and consent, confidentiality, supervision, good standing, court and local rules, written engagement terms, fees, taxes, records, and every other professional obligation.
No performance or service guarantee
CoverageCases does not guarantee that an opportunity will be posted or accepted, that an attorney will appear or perform, that messages will be delivered or read, that a court will accept an appearance, that a matter will have any outcome, or that the service or third-party systems will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Nothing in this Disclaimer waives a right or obligation that cannot lawfully be waived or narrows an express commitment in the activated Privacy Notice, Subscription Terms, or Support and Complaint Procedure.
Rule 4-7.22 classification
The owner-adopted conclusion that CoverageCases is not a qualifying provider under Rule 4-7.22 depends on the platform remaining lawyer-to-lawyer, not connecting prospective clients with lawyers, not generating consumer legal leads, not sharing legal or engagement fees, and not handling attorney-to-attorney engagement compensation.
The documented Ethics Hotline guidance was oral and nonbinding. It was not a formal written opinion or approval by The Florida Bar, and a material product change requires renewed review.
